The Van-Jan Premium Leather Kineton Noseband is a specialist training tool that works in concert with the bit to create a dual pressure effect — applying gentle nose pressure and bit ring pressure simultaneously. Favoured by riders working with strong or pulling horses, the Kineton encourages self-carriage without the need to increase bit severity.

Key Features

  • Authentic Kineton U-Piece — The distinctive stainless-steel U-shaped nose clip hooks directly onto the bit rings; when rein pressure is applied, the clip tightens gently on the nose bridge, distributing the stopping effect across both nose and bit
  • Quality Leather Cheek Straps — Sturdy yet supple leather straps connect the nose clip to the bridle, with contrast stitching for additional durability at stress points
  • Adjustable Nose Width — The U-clip adjusts in width to fit the specific anatomy of the horse's nose, ensuring correct action without pinching
  • Additional Lower Jaw Strap — Fine buckle strap below the bit prevents the Kineton from slipping upward during use
  • Brown Leather with Contrast Stitching — Rich brown leather with visible contrast stitching at stress points for strength and style

Ideal For

Horses that pull or lean on the bit, cross-country and show jumping where a stronger stopping aid is needed without changing to a more severe bit.

Care & Conditioning

Clean leather with a soft damp cloth after use. Apply a quality leather conditioner every 4–6 weeks, or more frequently in wet or cold conditions. Do not use household soaps, detergents, or oil-based products. Store away from direct heat and sunlight. A well-maintained Van-Jans bridle will last many years of regular use.
